During the Summer of 2008, we visited friends who own a cottage on Dog Lake. We fell in love and asked our friends to let us know if property became available. A month later they called and said they found the perfect place. We came with a scheduled appointment but no realtor.

Testimonial - Bev Lawson and Mary Reid
Last fall, my husband and I decided to downsize from a rural home into the city. To start the process, we interviewed three agents, with the goal of finding not only someone who was excellent at their job, but also someone who we felt we could work with easily. We both knew within the first five minutes of meeting Bev and Mary that they were our agents. Our experience confirmed our initial instincts.
We knew the lifestyle we were looking for in our new home, but had difficultly verbalizing the particulars. Bev had the patience to show us many houses to get a good understanding of our rather specific needs and wants.
We were confident that we could sell our rural home quickly – but in less than one week, with competitive bids ! Wow!!!
However, the thrill of the sale changed quickly to panic – we had nowhere to live if we didn’t find our new home quickly. We had already searched all the existing listings, and Bev had shown us quite a few, many of which had lots to offer - but not the “perfect for us” house we were looking for.
Then one evening, as we were about to prepare dinner, Bev called and asked if we could come quickly to see a house that had been listed that very day. When we arrived, Bev was standing inside at the living room window with a huge grin on her face. She knew this was our house. Since there was already an offer on its way, we had to move quickly. Bev went into high gear and cranked out all the paperwork. After some to and fro, the deal was done in about three hours. We won the competitive bid and could relax knowing we had found our new home.
We cannot thank Bev and Mary enough for helping us through all aspects selling and buying. We will definitely be calling on them for our next move, in about five years, when we are ready to downsize further to an apartment.
Bev’s kind, patient, and gentle manner belies her keen negotiation skills. We now count her as a valued and dear friend.

In August 2010, my partner and I (and our upcoming baby) moved to Kingston. We were renting and our plan was to find a house within a year. We started looking on MLS and going to open houses on our own but found ourselves quite lost in an unfamiliar market. Luckily we soon met Bev Lawson in September she was the listing agent on a house we went to see. She offered her help as a realtor and without her expertise we would never have been able to navigate the minefield of the kingston market. I must say she really went out of her way to help us find our very first home (which we love); she was in constant contact; very quick finding out additional information; and replying to our emails and organizing tours.
